Search Warrant and Drug Arrest Near Scranton

On January 14, 2025, the Logan County Sheriff's Office and 15th Judicial District Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence on Patterson Bluff Road near Scranton in northeastern Logan County due to a narcotics investigation by Investigator Howard Bates on a person who lives at that address. At the residence, they found a plastic bag containing smaller individual bags of a crystal substance that appeared to be methamphetamine, a plastic bag containing a green leafy substance that appeared to be marijuana, digital scales, packing bags, three firearms, and a large amount of U.S. currency. The crystal substance was field-tested and showed a presumptive positive reaction as methamphetamine. They arrested Paul Ahrns, 61, for the contraband found at his residence and for two counts of Delivery of Methamphetamine due to the narcotics investigation.
Ahrns was transported to the Logan County Detention Center and booked in on the presumptive charges of Delivery of Methamphetamine, Heroin, or Cocaine (X2); Possession of Methamphetamine, Heroin, or Cocaine with the Purpose to Deliver; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance with the Purpose to Deliver; Controlled Substances - Offenses Relating to Records, Maintaining Premises, etc.; and Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms. He has since bonded out.
