On June 19, 2024, the Logan County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call from a woman who stated she was shot at but not injured on Spring Lake Road in New Blaine in eastern Logan County. Upon arrival, we met with the caller and a passenger who stated they were backing out of a driveway when Dustin Seiter, 32, of Dardanelle, drove by in a white Buick S.U.V. and fired shots at them. He then drove off heading south on Spring Lake Road. The victim had recently filed a theft report where Dustin is suspected of stealing two handguns including a .22 caliber pistol and also stealing cash money. Our dispatch notified by terminal message all surrounding jurisdictions and advised that the driver was wanted in connection with a shooting. The victim's truck sustained damage from the shooting. We found five spent .22 caliber shell casings that were scattered along the road. The scene was photographed and the shell casings were seized.
At approximately 8:20 p.m., officers from the Dardanelle Police Department located the Buick S.U.V. at a gas station in their city. Dustin was not in the vehicle. They impounded the vehicle and notified us. Since we could not find Dustin, we sent our case file to the Prosecuting Attorney's Office and obtained a felony warrant for Terroristic Act, a Class B felony. Dustin is also on parole and a parole absconder warrant was issued since he left town and quit meeting with his parole officer.
Recently, we found out that Dustin was in Hot Springs. We notified the Garland County Sheriff's Office and they arrested him without incident. At the time of this posting, he is being transported to the Logan County Detention Center by one our transport deputies.
