12/06/2024

Press Release by the Scott County Sheriff's Office:

Cooperation between law enforcement agencies, especially in rural areas, is crucial. Shared information and resources is a key element of successful investigations. Over the past 2 days numerous agencies participated in operations that resulted in large quantities of controlled substances being seized and stolen property recovered in Scott County. By working together in a coordinated manner we are able to increase our effectiveness, and we greatly appreciate the efforts put forward by all of those agencies involved. If you have information regarding illegal drugs, stolen property, or other criminal activity in your community please let us know.

On Thursday December 6th the Scott County Sheriff's Department, Logan County Sheriff's Department, and 15th Judicial District Drug Task Force, during the course of an investigation concerning property stolen from Logan County, executed a search warrant at a residence on Hwy 378 in Scott County. That search warrant resulted in the seizure of a substantial quantity of suspected methamphetamine, suspected marijuana, suspected kratom, suspected psilocybin mushrooms, prescription pills, numerous fireams, and thousands of dollars worth of property stolen from Logan County. 61 year old Daniel Pyle was arrested at the scene and is currently in custody at the Scott County Detention Center.

On Friday December 6 the Scott County Sheriff's Department, Waldron Police Department, and 15th Judicial District Drug Task Force (with the additional assistance of an Arkansas State Trooper and an Arkansas Game and Fish Law Enforcement Officer) executed 2 simultaneous search warrants on properties on Barron Rd in Scott County. Those search warrants were unrelated to the incident on the previous day and were the result of ongoing investigations into the sale of methamphetamine in our communities.
