DRUG ARREST IN THE DELAWARE COMMUNITY
On May 29, 2024, Logan County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Investigator Howard Bates and Arkansas Division of Community Corrections Probation and Parole agents went to a residence off East State Highway 22 in the Delaware Community in eastern Logan County to speak with a parolee. Investigator Bates went to this area due to information he received of illegal drug sales. During the course of their visit, they also spoke with Dillon Edwards, 27, who is living in a camper on the property. In the camper, Investigator Bates and the Probation and Parole agents found approximately one and a half pounds of marijuana, one pound of mushrooms, eighty-nine THC vape pens, eighteen packs of THC edibles, six firearms, and $2,230 in cash.
Dillon was arrested and transported to the Logan County Detention Center. All contraband was logged into evidence and the firearms and money were transferred over to an agent with the 15th Judicial District Drug Task Force pending a civil forfeiture. Dillon was booked in on the anticipated charges of Possession of a Schedule I or II Controlled Substance with Purpose to Deliver, Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance with Purpose to Deliver, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Maintaining a Drug Premise, and Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms.
