Recent Arrests for Drug Charges and Theft Charges

05/13/2024

On May 9, 2024, Logan County Sheriff's Office Investigator Howard Bates assisted officers from the Probation & Parole Office in an in-home compliance check at an apartment on Eastwood Street in Booneville. They spoke with David Ross, 46, who lives at the residence (he is not under supervision but another person staying at the residence is under supervision).  During a search of the residence, they found a cellophane wrapper containing suspected heroin and a used syringe. Investigator Bates field-tested the suspected heroin and it showed a presumptive reaction as heroin. The apartment is also within a 1,000 foot of a daycare in Booneville.  David was arrested and transported to the Logan County Detention Center and booked in on the anticipated charges of Possession of Heroin, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Controlled Substances in Proximity to Certain Facilities (a daycare).

On May 7, 2024, the Logan County Sheriff's Office and Magazine Police Department executed a search warrant at Ashton Sloan's residence on Reveille Valley Road near Magazine to search for property that was reported stolen from a residence on the other side of Reveille Valley Road.  We found stolen items including a boat trailer, power tools, tools, Shop-Vac, and other items.  We also found some street signs that were stolen from Magazine and Booneville.  Ashton, 25, was not present at first but later arrived while we were still there.  He was arrested and transported to the Logan County Detention Center and booked in on the anticipated charges of several counts of Theft by Receiving.

On May 8, 2024, Logan County Sheriff's Office Investigator Howard Bates arrested William Barnes, 35, of Booneville, at a residence on Turkey Ridge Road.  William was in possession of a stolen boat and trailer and another boat trailer that were all stolen from a residence on Reveille Valley Road.  He was arrested and transported to the Logan County Detention Center and booked in on the anticipated charges of Theft of Property, Theft of Receiving, and Criminal Trespass.

Also, on May 8, 2024, Investigator Chris Langston arrested Gary Miller, 43, on a traffic stop in the Delaware community in eastern Logan County for a warrant for Nonfinancial Identity Fraud. In March, investigators and deputies from the Sheriff's Office found stolen property at a residence in Delaware and Gary was present.  At the residence, Gary identified himself as another person since he had a warrant from another agency and his true identity was not discovered until later so we requested a warrant for his arrest.  Gary was arrested and transported to the Logan County Detention Center for the warrant.
